Kumamoto man slashed and injured; 24-year-old suspect living nearby arrested. Man in his 40s was stabbed from behind with a knife as he was walking on the street in Minamikumamoto 1-chome, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City.
The two men did not know each other, and the man sustained injuries to his back and left side that will take two weeks to heal. The suspect arrested was Hiroo Yamamoto (24), occupation unknown, from Heisei.
