A 20-year-old man fell under a moving carnival float in St. Goarshausen near Koblenz late on Saturday afternoon.
He suffered fatal injuries and died from his injuries in hospital. It is still unclear how the incident occurred after the move, the police said. The accident site on federal highway 42 will remain closed until the police have completed the documentation. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.. Pedestrians could avoid the closure along the Rhine, cars should bypass the closure.
