Kobayashi Pharmaceutical's "Red yeast rice" problem - urgent analysis to see if it contains unexpected ingredients. Four people have died and a total of 93 people have been hospitalized due to kidney disease after ingesting health foods containing Kobayashi's red yeast rice.
The company found that unexpected ingredients were contained in the raw materials produced between April and December last year. Since this ingredient is similar to that made from mold, the company is rushing to analyze the ingredient, as well as investigating how it occurred.
