A four-year-old girl was stabbed in the Allgäu in Ravensburg on Wednesday. The suspect, a man with Syrian and Dutch citizenship, was arrested and taken to a psychiatric hospital.
It is unclear what could have motivated the man to attack the child. The investigation is currently underway and all traces are being evaluated, said police spokeswoman Daniela Baier. The girl had to undergo emergency surgery in the hospital and is now on the mend, police said. The man apparently had a place to sleep in the city.
