Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern knighted by Britain's King Charles III. She has been awarded the title of "Dame Grand Companion" The Order of Knighthood is one of the highest honours in the Commonwealth country.

The Labour politician had surprisingly announced her resignation in January. During her reign, she had to overcome several serious crises and received worldwide recognition for this. The Christchurch attacks, in which a right-wing extremist from Australia shot 2019 Muslims in two mosques, was cited as the main reason given for the award.
