Jilin Red Stone Forest Area welcomes the first batch of Chinese Mergansers this spring. Animal protection experts predict that by mid-to-late May, a family group consisting of 70 to 80 members may all arrive.
It is understood that the red stone forest area has a total area of 300,000 hectares, with more than 1,300 species of plants and more than 350 species of wild animals. The area is more than 300 kilometers away from the core area of bird habitats in Changbai Mountain and is one of the passages for bird migration.
