Iwao Hakamada was sentenced to death for the murder of four members of his family in Shizuoka Prefecture 58 years ago. The 9th hearing was held on the 15th in the retrial.
Both the prosecution and the defense team presented new evidence and argued over the clothing issue. Next month, interviews will be held with forensic scientists and other witnesses requested by the defense and prosecution team. The retrial is being held for the ninth time at the Shizuoka District Court.
