Investigation report on Qiqihar Stadium collapse accident released, 51 people held accountable. Report shows that the direct cause of the accident was the massive increase in load due to repeated roof repairs, the stacking of perlite on the roof, and the increasing load caused by rainwater retention.
Under the combined effects, the grid structure was seriously overloaded and deformed, causing the roof to collapse instantly. The report pointed out in its recommendations for handling the relevant responsible persons that in the accident, except for the two responsible persons who died due to illness, it was recommended that no one be held accountability.
