International Justice continues hearings on the legal consequences of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. The court's sessions witnessed for the first time pleadings submitted by an unprecedented number of countries since its establishment after the end of World War II.
Israel had decided to boycott the court sessions, while Canada, Britain, and the United States of America attended the session, despite the fact that Washington opposes all court intervention in the Israeli aggression against Palestine. Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki considered the American delegation’s plea more political than legal.
