Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province, is the earliest hometown of longevity in Chinese history. As of December 2022, there are 12 long-lived elderly people over 100 years old.

The city's people's hospital regularly examines the elderly, and village doctors come to check for underlying diseases every month. A monthly old-age subsidy of 118,1000 yuan will be issued to centenarians, and after reaching the age of 100, another 30 Yuan will be added per month for each additional year.
