Ground Self-Defense Force and U.S. Marine Corps conduct joint training in Okinawa, Kyushu, assuming remote island defense.

Some of the training will be held for the first time on Okinoerabu Island in Kagoshima Prefecture. The Japan Ground Self- defense Force has announced that it will hold joint training with the U.N. agency from the end of this month. The joint exercise simulates the defense of remote islands, and last year was the firsttime it was held in Japan.
