The IAEA has visited Japan to conduct a final investigation into a plan to dilute the treated water accumulated at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to a substandard concentration and release it into the sea. The Japan government plans to start releasing the emissions by around this summer, and hopes to disseminate information based on the evaluation results.

South Korea dispatched its own inspection team consisting of experts last week, citing domestic concerns, but China and Pacific island countries have also expressed opposition and concern.
