Four Chinese drivers and others arrested for operating white taxis to foreign tourists. All four admitted the charges and stated that they did it to earn a living.
Two of the four are believed to have used brokers to transport passengers who had applied for rides through Booking.com, a major travel reservation site affiliated with the company. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details of the situation and is increasing its vigilance as the number of inquiries regarding "white taxis" has increased with the increase of foreign tourists after the new coronavirus moved to Category 5.
