2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the Soviet drama Kalina Krasnaya. The film was written and directed by Vasily Shukshin.
He also played the main character - criminal Yegor Prokudin, who goes to the village to visit the woman who wrote to him while he was in captivity. “Kalina Kasnaya” became successful: 62.5 million people watched it in the USSR, it received several honorary awards. In 2019 it was re-released in a version restored by Mosfilm.
