Small plane crashes into residential area in Clearwater, Florida. Passengers and residents are believed to be among the victims.

Pilot made emergency call a few kilometers after takeoff and reported problems with the engine, it was said. At least four houses went up in flames. It was a Beechcraft Bonanza V35, a spokesman for the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told CNN. Depending on the equipment, the aircraft type has space for four to six people, the FAA said.
