The first bonito to be landed at Onahama Port was the 240rd Juwa Maru, owned by a fishery company in Iwaki City. The amount landed was about 2 tons, nearly three times the highest number of fish landed last year, which was more than 100 tons.
The fat paste is good, and it was traded for 2 to 5 yen per kilogram, a woman at a fresh fish shop in the city said. "At the store, we cut them into pieces and serve them with fresh sashimi," she said.
