A farewell party was held in Tokyo for singer Aki Yashiro, who was known for hit songs such as "Ame no Hojo" and "Funauta" About 1,000 people who had been close friends said their goodbyes at the event. Mr.Yashiro has been active as an enka singer for more than half a century since his debut in 1971.
After receiving the diagnosis, he devoted himself to treatment, but passed away in December at the age of 73.
