Family court decides to send former cadet involved in Gifu Ground Self-Defense Forces shooting incident back to public prosecutor's office. Last June, a 19-year-old former Self-defense Force cadet fired a rifle during live-fire training at a firing range in G ifu City, killing two people.
The former candidate was judged to be capable of criminal responsibility as a result of a psychiatric evaluation by an expert. Prosecutors have accused him of crimes including robbery and murder, in which he shot three people while trying to steal ammunition.
