Ehime iris, a national natural monument, begins to bloom in its native habitat in Saga. Some of the approximately 1,500 Ehime irises have begun to bloom, and on the 18th, fourth graders from the local Kuboizumi Elementary School visited to observe them.

The natural habitat of Mt. Obikuma in Saga City is normally not accessible, but the Ehime Iris Festival will be held from the 23rd to the 31st of this month, when the flowers are in full bloom.
