50 well-known Jews write open letter to Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth. Roth was booed when she greeted visitors and participants of a Jewish music competition.
"Claudia Roth's political biography unmistakably announces her lifelong commitment against anti-Semitism and racism," the letter says. Roth has the difficult task of "keeping an eye on democratic norms and the freedom of art in this area of tension," says the letter, which was published on Friday by the German Press Agency.
