Police in Murrieta, California, released so-called mugshots in which the faces of the suspects were covered with the heads of Lego figures. Under California's new law, law enforcement agencies are now required to remove all mugshots posted on social media within 14 days.

On March 19, Lego got in touch and "respectfully asked us not to use their intellectual property in our social media content, which we of course understand and will follow," shared a representative of the police. The toy company was reportedly less than enthusiastic about the police's use of its products.
