Lower Saxony Higher Administrative Court in Lüneburg partially overturns restricted area regulation in city of Braunschweig. Prostitution should only be banned in particularly sensitive and vulnerable areas, court says.
In August 2022, brothels were banned throughout the city, with the exception of the historic red light district, already legally existing bro thels. Police want to decide on possible legal remedies after the verdict, but judgments are not yet final. An appeal can still be lodged against the non-admission.
