The Jewish community of Berlin is no longer allowed to vote in the bodies of the Central Council for a year. The reason for the suspension is a dispute over the election of the municipal parliament in 2023.

Shortly before the election, the leadership of the municipality around chairman Gideon Joffe changed the electoral regulations and introduced an age limit of 70 years for candidacies.
