On the third day of Setsubun, parishioners dressed as demons appeared at a bean-throwing event held at a shrine in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. Some of the children were so surprised by the sight of demons that they burst into tears.
A man in his 40s who visited said, ''I want to get rid of all the bad luck and spend time with my family in good health.'' After the bean-Throwing, the crowd of people reached out with both hands and grabbed the beans.
