The Bar Lev Defense Line was built by the Israeli occupation along the eastern coast of the Suez Canal in 1969. It was described as the strongest military defense line at the time.

However, the Egyptian army was able to penetrate its defenses and destroy its fortresses within a few hours during the October 1973 War. The myth of the “invincible army” collapsed. The project was distinguished by the fact that, upon construction, it included the entire front line with Egypt, and then the process of its fortifications continued.
