Crew of container ship sent out distress signal before bridge collapsed. According to the crew, there was a problem with the electricity on the ship.
The ship, which is operated by the charter company Synergy Group, was chartered by Maersk on a temporary basis, said a statement from the Danish logistics company MaersK. There were no Maerski crew or personnel on the vessel, according to the statement. The search was underway for six missing people at the time of the press conference.
