A 15-year-old is accused of killing a classmate at his school in Offenburg in November. The teenager is also said to have tried to set off an incendiary device in the classroom and then in the school stairwell.

The Offenburg regional court must now decide whether to open main proceedings against the suspect. If convicted, the teen could face a youth sentence of between six months and ten years, according to the public prosecutor's office. In the past few weeks there have been repeated acts of violence at schools in Baden-Württemberg.
