Wakata has been on the International Space Station since October last year. He returned to Japan earlier this month for his first press conference since his return.

Wakata says he wants to contribute to the development of the Moon and Mars. He says he is looking forward to working with the U.S. and other countries in the future. He also says he hopes to be able to help in the creation of the moon and Mars, which he hopes will one day be accessible to all.
