Alexandra Föderl-Schmid, deputy editor-in-chief of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", was found alive. The 53-year-old woman was taken to the hospital suffering from hypothermia.

The news was preceded by a lengthy search operation in the Inn Valley. The journalist had been accused of plagiarism in her doctoral dissertation, which was financed by the right-wing populist medium Nius. She announced the news in tears in front of around 250 employees.
