A municipality in France has closed the area after a crocodile sighting in the Dordogne. After a large-scale operation by the police and fire brigade, it turned out that there was no danger to the public at any time.

The municipality eventually confirmed that it was a dummy and published photos as proof. The area was closed to traffic after the discovery of a suspected crocodile in a river in southwestern France. The emergency services finally pulled an object more than two meters long out of the water, which had exactly the shape of the crocodile.
