The Berlinale must remain a place “that is free from hatred, agitation, anti-Semitism, racism and every form of misanthropy,” says a resolution by the Supervisory Board of the Federal Cultural Events in Berlin. In the future, the festival should be able to intervene more quickly in the event of controversies thanks to a strong management team.

Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian are currently at the helm of the Berlinale, with Tricia Tuttle taking over in April.
