The summer, which will begin on June 21, is again expected to be very hot and with storms "more abundant than other summers" in Spain. This has been advanced by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) at a press conference on Wednesday.
Aemet has also reported that the spring of this 2023 has been the warmest ever recorded in Spain since there are climate statistics. Spain is a European country on the frontline of climate change with almost 75% of its territory at risk of desertification.
