A Tunisian court orders the death penalty for people convicted of the assassination of Chokri Belaid. The Ennahdha Movement considered the ruling to be evidence of its innocence after it was accused of being behind the assassination.

The United Democratic Patriots Party confirmed that the battle to uncover the truth is still ongoing. The court sentenced four people to death and two others to life imprisonment on charges of participating in the assassination in 2013. The ruling is expected to be announced in the coming days.
