At a prefectural high school in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, when the advisor of the kendo club was teaching iaido using a Japanese sword, the tip of the sword hit a student in the thigh. The student suffered a 3cm cut on his thigh and was treated at a hospital, but the severity of his injuries are said to be minor.
The advisor has reflected on the incident and has informed the school of his plans to resign, and the student has no intention of filing a police report.
