A monument commemorating the Kyoto Animation arson murder case will be installed in Uji, Kyoto by around July. Five years ago, in 2019, the first studio of Kyoto Animation in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City was set on fire, killing 36 employees.
Shinji Aoba, who was charged with murder, was sentenced in January this year. The Association for Connecting the Spirit, an organization made up of bereaved families and companies, plans to install a monument to remember the incident and the existence of the victims.
