'Human' tools from 1.4 million years ago found in Ukraine, the oldest dated in Europe. Researchers have dated Korolevo, an important site in Ukraine.

These are the oldest human tools found so far in the territory that is now Europe. The colonization of Europe is located in a geographic location, between the Caucasus and Europe, two regions that paleontologists believe were occupied by hominids 1.8 million and 1.2 years ago. The authors of the research suggest that the first hominid probably took advantage of warmer interglacial periods to colonize areas located at higher latitudes.
