This year's spring labor movement focuses on increasing the wages of non-regular employees in order to achieve sustainable wage increases. Part-time and temporary workers have come together to form an initiative called ``Irregular Spring Labor'' Temporary workers and others “should receive a significant wage increase just like regular employees” says one worker.
Last year, there were more than 21 million people in Japan in non- Regular employment, accounting for 37% of the total workforce, according to NHK.
