Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: 46% female students overall, 16% in engineering faculties and 28% in science faculties. Of the 24 universities that responded to the survey, 21 universities introduced the system after entrance exams held after last year, indicating that the system has recently become more widespread.
