Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, announced that a cat ran away from the factory after falling into a tank of hexavalent chromium, a toxic substance. An employee who came to work at the Nomura Plating Fukuyama Factory in Yanaizu Town in the city around 7 a.m.
on the 11th found footprints that appeared to be that of a cat in the tank. Hexavalent Chromium is used in plating processes and can cause inflammation if it comes into contact with the skin and respiratory problems if inhaled.
