In Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, a mother and her boyfriend were arrested for allegedly dousing their 5-year-old daughter with water in the bathtub and leaving her to die of hypothermia. Nanami Miyamoto (21) and her partner Ryo Sekikawa (31), who live together, were arrested on suspicion of causing bodily harm resulting in death.
Police believe that the abuse was repeated on a daily basis and are investigating her motive in detail.
