Aram Ilyich Khachaturian was born near Tbilisi on June 6, 1903. Until the age of 19, he was not familiar with musical notation.

He was one of the most famous Soviet composers and conductors. He wrote many works that have become classics, and also trained a whole galaxy of composers. He is the author of the famous "Saber Dance" from the ballet "Gayane", and of the score for the film "The Nutcracker"
