In Koto Ward, Tokyo, "Hanachozu" is held in pots filled with water. The work of floating the flowers is handled by the florists in the ward.

"When I see beautiful flowers, I feel like my heart is cleansed," says one man. "Fukushima" is a form of water worship used in Japan to wash hands and mouths. It is practiced at shrines and temples in the city, as well as in other parts of the country.
