"Greening General" Zhang Lianyin passed away and returned to his hometown for 20 years, planting more than 2 million trees. In the 20 years since he returned, he has built more than 300 acres of seedling base on the abandoned river beach in his hometown.
A total of more than 18,000 acres of trees have been planted. In July 2007, Zhangjiachang Village was accepted as an ecological garden demonstration village in Shanxi Province. In 2023, he was rated as an advanced individual in the Central Propaganda Department in grassroots theoretical propaganda.
