Yoshihisa Kitano, president of JFE Steel, will be appointed as its new president on April 1st. Mr.

Kitano joined the then-Kawasaki Steel Corporation in 1982, and at JFE after the merger, he worked as a steelworks director. Under the new management structure, the company will not only strengthen its earning power but also move forward with initiatives such as decarbonization at steelworks, which is a common issue in the industry. The company also announced personnel changes that will see Vice President Masayuki Hirose take over as president ofJFE Steel.
