The Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) prohibits Worldcoin from continuing its activity. Almost 400,000 people have come to one of the points installed by the company to carry out their work.

The agency's intervention is based on complaints received in recent days against Worldcoin. Worldcoin offered economic compensation - in the form of cryptocurrencies - in exchange for iris scanning to people who wanted to obtain virtual currencies. Thousands of people responded, ignoring warnings about the implications it could have for their personal data.
