The Government will approve this Tuesday the increase in the SMI to 1,134 euros despite the frontal rejection of businessmen. "That is, colleagues, politics, what we socialists do, transforming the reality of citizens and governing for the social majority of our country," Sánchez highlighted at an electoral event in Ourense.

This increase does not have the approval of the employers' association, CEOE, which withdrew from the agreement when none of its claims were met by the Executive. The Ministry of Labor, seeing that the employers were not going to agree to the 4% increase that they proposed, ended up agreeing to a 5% increase with the unions.
