The Canary Islands put a limit on vacation rentals: minimum age of 10 years and with authorization from neighbors. The Executive formed by the alliance between the Canarian Coalition and the PP, led by Fernando Clavijo, bases the rule on the "need to have a regulation that contributes to the establishment of a sustainable urban, territorial and tourism model" The text is the island Government's response to the problem of access to housing that is increasing in the community.

In the first quarter of 2024 alone, rental income skyrocketed by 13.3% compared to the same period last year.
