The average income of pensioners has grown twice as much as that of young people aged 16 to 29 since 2008. The average net income of those over 64 years of age has gone from 10,893 euros to 16,185 euros.

The inactive -those who neither work nor want to, and who in many cases receive these benefits- stand at 11,935 euros per year. Behind them are the unemployed, with an average net annual income of 9,876 euros. This very disparate evolution of income also translates into differences in the risk of poverty rate.
