The Stuttgart 21 railway project is intended to relocate the main train station of the Baden-Württemberg state capital underground. However, the above-ground terminal station is now needed longer than planned.

The timetable for 2026 will therefore be developed “on the basis of the old infrastructure with the existing terminal station,” the state-owned company Deutsche Bahn said. Costs are now eleven billion euros and the commissioning of the project had also been repeatedly delayed.
