National Bureau of Statistics: Consumer prices rose 0.3% month-on-month in January. In January 2024, affected by the holiday effect, residents' consumer demand continued to increase.
The prices of the other seven major categories increased in five from the previous month, stayed flat and fell. In food, due to the cold wave weather and the increase in consumer demand as the Spring Festival approaches, the price of fresh vegetables increased by 3.8%. The price of eggs fell by 1.5%, affecting the CPI to fall by about 0.01 percentage points.
